Sadie Spikes’ projects have varied from her earlier Art exhibitions and solo Installations in non art environments, collaborative projects, residencies, group shows and selected exhibitions. To current solo exhibitions, private commissions and Interior design projects.
She completed her specialist degree, ‘Fine Art in Context B.A.(Hon) in 1996 and after gaining a First she was awarded a Fellowship at the University of the West of England in live Art, launching a much loved career in lecturing over 13 years at both the UWE and Stroud College of Art. She Completed a Fine Art M.A. in 2004 and left lecturing in 2010 to pursue her own art practice in earnest whilst developing her own creative direction.
She continues to make her studio art work and exhibit, and to explore and develop new creative directions and enterprises with her distinct eye for art, style and design. She is excited by the worlds expanding creative desire. Other projects and passions include interior renovations, growing and crafting a business, working in the studio and balancing family life. These are on-going projects.
Her work is visually intriguing, layered and oddly delicate and robust. Mixing disciplines, materials and mediums it often evokes a sense of disquiet, attempting perhaps to halt time. Sadie continues to practice her disciplines, push her boundaries and learn from the process… it is a continuing quest of discovery.
